San Ramon is a stunning city located in the north of the East Bay and shares borders with Dublin, Pleasanton, and Danville. Dougherty Valley is divided into Windemere and Gale Ranch communities. Windemere was a joint master plan by Contra Costa County, Shapell Industries, and Windemere Partner LLC. Windemere is known for its excellent greenery, spacious roads, and newer public electrical system. The city government has advocated for the concept of "every household can walk to the park," and there are over 50 parks in the city. Gale Ranch is made up of over a dozen small communities, and the beautiful Bridge community has over 300 luxurious villas of various architectural styles. Gale Ranch is adjacent to the Bridge Golf Club and sits on the golf course with unlimited views. Toll Brothers, a famous luxury house builder, acquired Gale Ranch in 2013 for $1.6 billion and built nearly 1,500 new homes. All projects are currently sold out. The schools in 94582 have a perfect score of 10 on GreatSchools rating. There are two high schools here, i.e., California High School and Dougherty Valley High School. Dougherty Valley High School is the most advanced, complete, and expensive public high school in the United States. It ranks fourth among public high schools in the Bay Area of US News and is rated as a 10-point high school on GreatSchools. DVHS is also a STEM high school, ranking 49th among all STEM high schools. In addition, 79% of the school's students take AP exams, with 75% passing at least one AP exam. California High School was also a national "Blue Ribbon High School" in 2006-2007, with its academic and sports strengths.
